Firefighters rushed to save a dog after it fell down an embankment in Doncaster late at night.

A fire crew needed more than one hour to rescue the animal on High Street, Askern at about 9.20pm on Sunday (7 December).

A South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “A fire crew from Adwick station were called out to rescue a dog which had fallen down an embankment at 9:20pm on High Street, Askern, Doncaster.

"Firefighters left the dog with it’s owner and left the scene at 10:45pm.”
