Firefighters called to back garden bonfire involving carpets giving off thick and acrid smoke

Upon arrival they found a controlled burn in the back garden of a property.

The crew in attendance made a decision to extinguish this fire as the bonfire involved carpets, which were giving off thick and acrid smoke. This was dealt with by 7.47pm.

Dearne firefighters attended Aldam House Lane, Wombwell, at 2.51am on Monday and found a rubbish fire in woods.

This is thought to have been started deliberately.
