A QUAD biker rider who died when the vehicle he was riding collided with a tree has been named by police this afternoon.
Nathan John Robinson, 22, from Dunscroft, was pronounced dead in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in the crash.
Police were called to Thorne Road, Blaxton, at around 5am on Monday. The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
The bike Mr Robinson was riding had been stolen in Haxey, police said. His family were too upset to speak.
A Vauxhall Zafira was travelling with the quad bike, driven by a 23-year-old man with a 16-year-old boy pillion passenger. Both were arrested on suspicion of theft and perverting the course of justice.
Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on its new non-emergency phone number 101 quoting incident number 85 of November 7.
