Driving ban for Doncaster man caught drunk behind the wheel of his car

A Doncaster man has been banned from driving after he was caught drunk behind the wheel of his car in the town, court records show.

Vlase Mihiata was pulled over by police in Carr House Road, Doncaster, on August 23 this year, records for Doncaster Magistrates’ Court show.

He appeared before magistrates in the town on Monday, September 14, where he admitted the offence.

Records show that, when breathalysed, Mihiata, 32, of Mount Pleasant, Baldby, Doncaster, blew 68mg of alcohol to 100ml of breath, when the legal limit is 33mg - meaning he was more than double the legal drink-drive limit.

Mihiata was banned from driving for a total of 18 months, but the disqualification will be reduced by a total of 18 weeks if he completes a recognised drink-drive awareness course by September 8 next year.

He was also fined £353 by magistrates and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £35 victim surcharge.
