Sheffield Crown Court heard on April 29 how Jaqueline Williams, aged 41, of Station Road, Doncaster, admitted handling the stolen goods which had been taken from raids at three addresses in Doncaster including Millcroft Crescent, in Hatfield, Lindey Road, in Finningley and Ash Hill Crescent, in Hatfield.

Lorena Veale, prosecuting, said the occupant of Millcroft Crescent saw burglars in her property and jewellery was taken and Williams had been seen outside the property.

She added the occupant of Lindley Road returned home to find hundreds of pounds worth of items had been stolen and Williams was spotted and identified in the area.

Ms Veale also said that following the burglary at Ash Hill Crescent, Williams was identified in a field acting suspiciously around a fire and firefighters were alerted and items from the property were recovered including iphones, a laptop, a wallet, sunglasses and keys to a BMW.

Williams, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to three counts of handling stolen goods after the burglaries had been committed by others and she admitted breaching a previously imposed suspended prison sentence.

Richard Adams, defending, said since Williams has been remanded in custody she has been making progress on a rehabilitation programme and she is determined to overcome her drug problems and change her ways.

Judge David Dixon sentenced Williams to two-years of custody suspended for two years with a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement but warned any further offending would mean time behind bars.
