Sheffield Crown Court heard today, Friday, March 20, how Andrew Calladine, 43, of Grangefield Avenue, New Rossington, Doncaster, had been sentenced to a community order with a restraining order after he had committed an offence of battery against his ex-partner.

But Peter Hampton, prosecuting, said Calladine continued to contact the complainant during October with texts, Facebook messages and phone calls and he visited her home.

The complainant saw Calladine outside her home, according to Mr Hampton, and he shouted through her letter box.

Calladine also messaged a friend of his former partner’s and asked her to pass messages on, according to Mr Hampton, and he sent her a naked photo of his ex.

Mr Hampton said: “The defendant was messaging her quite frequently in the months leading up to the offence and he posted an image of the naked body of a female and the complainant is identifiable because you can see part of her face.”

The defendant admitted sending the image, according to Mr Hampton, and that he had done it to upset her.

Calladine, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order, to stalking and to disclosing private sexual photos.

The complainant stated she is scared and has been struggling to sleep and feels she has become a prisoner in her own home.

Michael Cane-Soothill, defending, said Calladine has already spent four-and-a-half months in custody and he would like to apologise.

Mr Cane-Soothill added that an image was sent to the complainant’s friend but was not put online.

Judge Michael Slater told Calladine: “During a two-week period in October, 2019, you committed the offence of stalking, committed by sending messages and telephone calls to your former partner.

“And on one occasion you attended her house in breach of a restraining order.”

He added: “During this two-week period you committed the extremely mean offence of disclosing to your partner’s best friend images of a sexual nature - that you had of the complainant – to cause further distress and discomfort.”

Calladine was sentenced to two years of custody. He was also given a five-year restraining order.
