Doncaster shoplifter threatening people with hypodermic needle

A shoplifter has been threatening people with a hypodermic needle in a Doncaster town, police have revealed.

Officers have been taking action to deal with the man in Thorne, a meeting in Askern heard.

Sgt Mike Miles, the neighboods sergeant for Doncaster East revealed the situation to Askern residents at Askern Miners Welfare as he explained the pressure on police resources in the borough.

He said: “There has been a shoplifter in Thorne threatening people threatening people with a hypodermic needle.”

He also told the meeting that there had been an issue of speeding in Norton recently.

Around 50 people gathered at the miners welfare for the meeting, which was called by the local neighhourhood watch over concerns regarding recent levels of crime in the area.
