Edlington police station will reopen in February, having been closed since 2014.

South Yorkshire Police are yet to confirm the exact date of the reopening, but say one sergeant, two officers and three community support officers will be based there.

All six are already serving in the town.

Annette Flavell, one of the officers who will be based at Edlington, said: “The station will house a number of different agencies, who will work together to strengthen the community and I think this will have a hugely positive impact.

“Housing, private landlords, wellbeing officers and more will all be based at the station, which will mean we can really start tackling anti-social behaviour, empty properties, organised crime gangs and more.”

Chief Superintendent Shaun Morley, who oversees policing in Doncaster, previously said the station reopening will be “an incredibly positive step for the area.”
