Kurtis Watson's disagreement with his girlfriend's neighbour, on Washington Grove, Bentley, took place on April 5, while his victim was streaming a DJ session on Facebook.
He and friend Matthew Parkin kicked the gate off the gatepost and confronted the man at his back door, where he told them to leave and locked himself in, said prosecutor Ian West.

The court heard £600 of damage was done to the DJ's equipment and £1,000 to his gate.
Two days later, Parkin was arrested and handed over a cut-throat razor that he had in his top pocket.
James Gould, mitigating, said Watson had not been in trouble since 2005, and it was an "isolated incident."

Hide AdPeter Hampton, for Parkin, said the pair had spent five weeks in custody and neither wanted to return.
Watson, 31, of Llewelyn Crescent, Askern, and Parkin, 31, of Manor Estate, Toll Bar, both pleaded guilty to affray and criminal damage, and Parkin also admitted possession of a blade.
Judge Sarah Wright said it was "utterly disgraceful behaviour," but there was a "realistic prospect of rehabilitation" so the inevitable prison sentence could be suspended.
She sentenced them both to five months, suspended for one year.
