Anthony Paul Higgins appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 4, charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, following the incident on September 4 last year.

Higgins, 35, of Mary’s Court, Rutland Street, Doncaster, admitted both offences when he appeared before the court at an earlier hearing on August 4.

He was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, because he had a history of failing to work with the Probation Service when given previous community orders.

Records also state that the offences were aggravated because Higgins had previous convictions of a similar nature.

He must also complete up to 15 rehabilitation activity days with Probation staff over the next year.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £100 in compensation to each officer but wavered prosecution costs and charges.
