Doncaster man jailed for four years for sexually assaulting teenage girl

A 51-year-old man from Doncaster is beginning a four-year jail term today after being convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Gary Rumble, of Ivanhoe Road, Conisbrough, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court to receive his sentence after being found guilty of sexual assault by a jury.

The court heard how Rumble sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Conisbrough in 2014.

The teenager reported the assault to police, who interviewed and charged Rumble.

Detective Sergeant Laura Jones investigating said: “Rumble denied ever committing this awful crime, meaning his victim had to recount the assault for the courts.

“I am pleased with the positive conviction and I hope that this allows the victim to begin the process of moving forward.

“We remain absolutely committed to the investigation of sexual offences and bringing the vile perpetrators of these crimes before the court.”

Upon release, Rumble will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register. No photograph is held of Gary Rumble.
