Doncaster man charged over Mexborough stabbing

A Doncaster man has been charged over the stabbing of a 41-year-old man in Mexborough on Friday.

Jonathan Beardsley, 41, is accused of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm after a man – also 41 – was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his chest.

Police were scrambled at 6.10am on Friday after reports of a stabbing on Wath Road.

Beardsley, of Chapel Street, will appear before magistrates tomorrow (Monday).
