Doncaster Crime round-up April 30: Men arrested over garden thefts; raiders steal motorbikes

The following crimes were reported to police on April 29 and April 30. Anyone with information please call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Balby: Two men have been arrested in connection with thefts from gardens in Balby. Police said they were taken into custody over alleged raids on gardens on Weston Road which saw items including a barbecue and a power washer stolen.

Hatfield: A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a car from a house on Station Road earlier this week. The vehicle was stopped in Stainforth, after having been reported stolen after a break-in at a property.

Stainforth: A Makita electric drill, valued at around £100 was stolen in a break-in on Monday night. It was taken from a brick out building next to a house on West Aveune between 8pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday. Police say the building was not locked.

Bentley: Burglars are thought to have tried to get into a house on Braithwell Court. Screwdriver marks were found on the rear window frame on Tuesday and the window was smashed. Nothing was taken.

Intake: A motorbike was stolen by burglars who struck at a shed in Doncaster. Raiders who broke into the structure had broken the lock off the door to get inside. The raiders targeted the site on Essex Avenue, between 4pm on Monday afternoon and 6am on Tuesday morning. The yellow and black off-road bike was valued at around £500.

Rossington: A £400 metal gate has been stolen from outside a house, prompting a police security warning. The gate was taken from the property on Attlee Avenue, on Monday night, and police believe it may have been taken for its scrap value. Police are urging people to make sure their gates cannot be easily removed and are bolted in place.

Rossington: Police believe thieves tried to burgle a house on Meadows Court by attacking its cylinder lock. Officers say the offender was unable to get into the property.

Hatfield: Two males have been charged by police in connection with an alleged shed burglary on Main Street on Tuesday.

Arksey: Thieves broke into a garage on Station Road and stole power tools including a drill and chainsaw. Two men were seen running away from the scene carrying what was thought to be stolen items, say police. The theft was thought to be between 8am and 11am on Tuesday.

Cantley: A bike was stolen from the garden of a house on Middleham Road, between 2pm and 3pm on Tuesday. It was in the garden and was not locked.
