Doncaster crime round-up, April 1.


The following crimes were reported to police early today or on Monday March 31. Anyone with information call police on 101

Hatfield: A car was stolen after a break-in at a house on Ash Hill Crescent. The keys for the red Audi A4 were taken after the lock had been broken off on the house door between 11pm and 2.30am. The car was later found abandoned in a ditch on Bawtry Road. It is being forensically examined. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the car being driven away last night.

Moorends: A water boiler and metal pipes were stolen from a house on Grange Road. The thieves had broken in via the rear door. It was reported on Monday morning.

Mexborough: Thieves broke into the allotments at Adwick Road Mexborough, causing damage to the perimeter fencing. Police believe they were disturbed after gathering together items to steal. Tools had been piled up next to the gate, say officers.

Bessacarr: A car was stolen from outside a house on Fewston Way in the early hours of Monday. The stolen car was a white Mercedes, registration S333KHA

Woodlands: a pedal cycle worth £1,200 was taken from a outside a shop on Woodlands Road. The owner of the bike came out of the shop and saw someone riding away on it at about 6.45pm on Monday.

Town centre: Thieves are thought to have cut through a chain to steal a bike valued at £1,000, which was lokced up outside Doncaster Library, on Waterdale.

Bentley: A bike was reported stolen from at The Homestead, on Saturday night. It had been left in the front garden.

Wheatley: A bike was reported stolen from a communal area at the Kings Hotel, on Kings Road, on Saturday night. It was thought to have happened between 11pm and 2pm.

Town centre: A seat was stolen off a bike at Doncaster railway station, between 4pm and 5pm on Monday evening. The bike was chained to a rack.
