Crackdown on dangerous parking outside schools

drivers parking in dangerous positions when picking up their children from school have been targeted as part of a police crackdown.

Parents in Intake are being warned they may face a fine if the situation continues.

The move comes after residents living in the area complained to their Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT).

Police Community Support Officers have been patrolling the streets surrounding Polver Primary School in Coniston Road and Danum Academy in Armthorpe Road at school finishing times.

Officers advised any drivers they saw that were causing an obstruction, such as double parking or parking over dropped kerbs.

Over the last month, officers have seen a reduction in vehicles parking in a dangerous position or causing an obstruction.
