Court fines 22 litter louts

twenty-TwO people were handed fines and charges totalling more than £6,500 following environmental crime prosecutions brought by Doncaster Council.

All of the cases were heard at Doncaster Magistrates Court on July 29.

They were charged with offences of dropping litter around the town centre or near their homes and were fined between £75 and £175 each, plus court costs.

Councillor Cynthia Ransome, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “This latest round of prosecutions sends a strong message that we will not tolerate environmental crime in Doncaster.”
