Police are keen to locate two missing teenage sisters believed to be in the Scunthorpe area.

Julfa Begum (13) and her sister Rushna Begum (14) both from the North Lincolnshire area were reported missing to police as they failed to attend school at the St Lawrence Academy in Scunthorpe on Thursday June 11.

Although thought to be together, concern is raised for the welfare of the girls due to their age and possible vulnerability.

The girls were last seen around 9am on Thursday June 11 and reported missing to police later that day when enquiries into their whereabouts began.

Julfa (13) is described as of Asian appearance with very long dark brown hair and when she went missing was said to be wearing black school trousers with a white shirt and black leather coat. She is 5ft 6ins and of slim build.

Rushna (14) is slightly shorter at 5ft 5ins tall, and also of Asian appearance, slim with very long dark brown hair. She was wearing black school trousers and a blazer with the school logo, along with a white shirt.

The sisters are known to have connections with Crowle and Gainsborough but are thought to be missing in the Scunthorpe area.

Alongside police enquiries, the public’s help is being sought in finding Julfa and Rushna and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log number 197 of 11 June 2015.
