Checks reveal speeding cars on busy Doncaster road, say police

South Yorkshire officers from the Doncaster East neighbourhood policing team caried out checks on a speed monitoring operation in Hatfield.

They said checks on Cemetery Road, Hatfield found eight vehicles travelling over 35mph while they were there. A total of 63 vehicles were travelling within the speed limit.

They also carried out checks on Kirton Lane,Stainforth. Of 86 vehicles monitored, three were travelling over 35 mph.

They were the latest of a number of speed check operation officers have carried out this week.

As part of national speed awareness week, the neighbourhood policing team had been out with the speed guns in various places highlighted by the public. Earlier in the week they carried out checks at Grampion Way in Thorne. But a spokesman said that one was found to be speeding on that occasion.
