CCTV image released after bogus builder theft in Doncaster

Police have released a CCTV image of a vehicle they would like to trace in connection with a reported theft in Wheatley Hills.

On March 25, an unknown man attended a property on Sandall Park Drive enquiring whether any building work or guttering repairs were required.The occupant agreed a price and was asked to pay upfront.DC Paul Rooney said: “Trusting the man purporting to be a local builder, the victim paid him in good faith. The unknown man then claimed he needed to buy some materials, but never returned to carry out the work.

“The victim in this case was an elderly man who put their trust in this person. It’s really important we find the offender.“We have carried out extensive enquiries, but have now released an image of a car which was in the area at the time which we would like to identify in connection with our investigation.”Anyone with information call 101 quoting 936 of 31 March.
