South Yorkshire Police said the force received a third party report’ of a robbery of a man in an alleyway between Beaconsfield Road and Shady Side, Hexthorpe, at 8pm on Wednesday, December 11.
It is understood that a 59-year-old man was walking in an alleyway when a number of people are reported to have assaulted him before stealing his car keys and cash.
An investigation is under way.
