Police have re-issued an appeal for information after a car was smashed using golf clubs.

A grey Volkswagen Sharan was driving along Urban Road, in Hexthorpe when the attack happened at around 4.40pm on Sunday, July 12.

As it pulled up to the junction with Ellerker Avenue, an unknown group of people damaged the vehicle using golf clubs and other items.

Several windows were smashed on the vehicle and the driver was able to drive away without getting injury.

Despite an appeal for information being issued at the time and extensive enquiries in the community to trace witnesses, nobody has come forward with information and no arrests have been made.

PC Mitchel Baldwin said: “This incident could have resulted in serious injury or much worse and we have been trawling the local area for any information that could help us identify the suspects.

“We know that there were a lot of people on the street at the time and someone must have seen something.

“If you don’t feel comfortable passing information to police, remember that you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 831 of July 12, 2015.
