Cantley shooting update: Four remain in custody
Four suspects remain in police custody today as police continue their investigation into a shooting in Doncaster yesterday.
Armed police were sent to Cantley yesterday morning and arrested a 15-year-old boy and three men aged 18, 27 and 52 on suspicion of attempted murder, after they received reports of a disturbance and ‘suspected firearms discharge’ on Aldesworth Road. The air ambulance also attended.
A short time later, it emerged that a 30-year-old man had attended Doncaster Royal Infirmary with suspected gunshot wounds.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said this morning: “The four people arrested remain in custody and officers will be in the area again today to carry out further enquiries.
“The victim is still in hospital.”
Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said yesterday officers were treating the incident as a targeted attack and did not believe there was any wider risk to the public.
