BURGLARS have stolen a dozen computers after breaking into two schools in Doncaster over the weekend.

They stole 12 laptops from Richmond Hill Primary School in Sprotborough.

Scawthorpe Castle Hills Primary School was also targeted but no items were taken.

Police are now advising the public to be vigilant and warning that should they be offered a laptop to purchase that is not from a reputable seller or retailer, the chances are it may be stolen.

Anyone found in possession of stolen goods will be dealt with appropriately, whether they are aware or not that the item is stolen.

Superintendent Eddie Murphy said: “The local school children are the ones who have suffered from this offence and we want to inform the public of this crime and encourage them to say no to making this sort of purchase. “If you are caught handling stolen goods, whether intentional or not, appropriate action will be taken against you.

“If the price is too good to be true, walk away and make sure you buy from reputable sellers.”

If anyone is aware or suspicious of this type of activity or knows of someone selling or buying stolen goods, please call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
