Brave boy chases train bike thief

A BRAVE 12-year-old boy chased a thief who made off with his bike from a train. The incident happened on a Doncaster to Goole train as it approached Thorne Station.

Pc Steven Duck explained: “The victim, a 12-year-old boy from Goole, was travelling on the train from Doncaster to Goole. He placed his bike in the luggage compartment at the end of the train.

“A man boarded the train in Doncaster with two men and women; he then grabbed the bike before jumping off the train at Thorne station. The victim gave chase and managed to grab the bike wheel but it was pulled from his hand and the suspect fled the station.”

The man was white, of medium build in his mid 20s. He had dark, short hair and wore a white hoodie and dark tracksuit bottoms. The bike is an orange BMX Mongoose, and worth in excess of £200.
