Boy, 13, set to appear in court after major police incident on Doncaster street

A 13-year-old boy is set to appear in court charged with criminal damage following a major police operation on a Doncaster residential street.

Dozens of officers flooded Hampton Road, Dunscroft yesterday at around 9.30am to execute a warrant at an address in the street.

Following the raid, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

It is alleged that a police vehicle was damaged in the aftermath of that arrest.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said in a brief statement: “An investigation into this incident is ongoing.”

Video footage of the incident shows a number of police vehicles sealing off the road while several officers attempt to deal with crowds of people in the street.

A 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with criminal damage and will appear before Doncaster Youth Court next month.

The 16-year-old has been released from custody with no charge.
