Both drivers arrested after failed breath tests following Doncaster roundabout smash
Two drivers were arrested after a late night collision in Doncaster where both failed breath tests.
South Yorkshire Police officers seized both motorists following the collision between a Mercedes and a Ford Fiesta on a roundabout near to St George’s Bridge on Saturday night.
A spokesman for Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The two cars somehow managed to crash in to each other on a roundabout.
"This was witnessed by two of our special constables who got hold of both drivers before they managed to escape the scene.
“Both drivers failed breath tests at the roadside and were arrested. The driver of the Mercedes blew over the limit in custody and will be appearing in court soon.
“The Fiesta driver was just under in custody, but didn't have a valid licence, so he's also off to court and the car was seized.”
