Belton man suffered a fractured pelvis after a two vehicle collision

POLICE are seeking witnesses to a serious injury road traffic collision that happened on the B1450 Station Road at Burringham, North Lincolnshire just after 3pm yesterday (Wednesday July 18).

A silver coloured Seat Ibiza driven by a 64-year-old Belton man and a Ford Transit Connect van driven by a 57-year-old man were in collision.

At the time of the collision the Seat was travelling from the direction of the village of Burringham and the van was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Seat sustained a fractured pelvis and the passenger, a 66-year-old woman from Belton, suffered bruising and whiplash injuries.

They were both taken to Scunthorpe General Hospital where the driver has been detained. His condition is described as stable and not life threatening.

The van driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old Messingham man, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital for treatment and were later released.

The road was blocked and a closure was put in place until just after 5pm.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the collision.
