He was spotted on August 14 on Bawtry Road, and ran. He was suspected of committing armed robbery at a nearby petrol station.

The regional police helicopter was in the area and helped while a search was conducted. The suspect was found, arrested and later charged.

The past month has been as busy as ever for us. While town centre footfall is not as high as pre-lockdown, demand for police has returned to pre-Covid levels.

On August 25, we also stopped a man who tried to flee after a burglary of a shop on Kingsgate.

And both the driver and passenger of a Ford Fiesta were detained after it was seen being driven erratically on College Road. Initially, it was pursued around Hyde Park on the right and wrong sides of the carriageways but eventually it crashed on Bennetthorpe.

We have continued to tackle the problem of drugs supply and use. On Monday August 24, officers raided two properties on Sydney Road and Acacia Road in Cantley. Drugs and £11,000 in cash was seized.

The properties were raided after intelligence suggested they had links to county lines drug dealing. County lines sees organised crime groups groom and exploit children and vulnerable adults in order to traffic drugs between counties.

We also seized a small quantity of class A drugs, thought to be cocaine as well as cannabis.

If anyone fears someone they know is involved in this type of crime, call us on 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online on Crimestoppers-uk.org.

We also executed another warrant at Whitcomb Drive, Rossington where 70 cannabis plants were found along with other items suspected to be controlled drugs.

We discovered a Cannabis set up at an address on Victoria Road, Balby, where over 200 plants were recovered on 20 August.

We also provided officers in the town centre and around some of our car parks at the St Leger festival.

My next Facebook event is on Thursday 24 September between 5.30 and 6.30pm.
