Police revealed the member of the public believed the van had been taken from a property on Sprotbrough Road on February 23, and followed the stolen vehicle while calling officers.

Insp Adrian Luscombe said: “This is a significant success at a time when there have been a lot of complaints about van thefts across South Yorkshire. This particular case is a great example of police and the public working together. It is unlikely this would have happened without the help of this member of the public, and we are grateful for their help.”
