Armed police dispatched after report of gunman on Doncaster estate

Officers searched the area after the reported incident in Cantley and are still looking into the incident, which was reported to officers yesterday evening.

The police team that was sent to the area was unable to find any one with a weapon in the area, but officers have confired that they are still carrying out investigations into what happened.

South Yorkshire Police issued a statement into the reported incident earlier today.

A police spokesman said: “Police received a report at around 7.35pm on Thursday 18 June of a man with a firearm at an address in Church Lane, Cantley. Officers attended the scene, however they did not find anything to substantiate the report.”

The added: “An investigation has been launched and enquiries continue.”
