Appeal after 'arson attack' on Doncaster home

Detectives are appealing for information as they investigate a suspected arson attack in Doncaster.

At 5.30am this morning (Sunday, November 22) a fire was started at an address in Wellington Street.

Nobody was injured in the incident but it did cause substantial damage to the property.

Although the investigation is in its early stages, police believe this was a targeted attack.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone with information relating to how the fire started, or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area this morning. We are also keen to hear from any drivers who were travelling through the area and hold dash cam footage.

“If you can help, please contact police through 101 quoting incident number 151 of 22 November. Any footage can be emailed through to [email protected].

“Alternatively, you can stay completely anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.”
