A hit and run occurred in Doncaster town centre this weekend sending two people to hospital

Two people were transported to hospital after a hit and run in Doncaster town centre this weekend.

The incident involved a man and a woman who were both taken to hospital after they had been hit with the car in the early hours of Sunday morning.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at 5.21am yesterday (25 July) to reports of a hit-and-run in Doncaster town centre.

Mark Dickinson spotted police activity at the scene yesterday morning.

“A car had reportedly collided with two pedestrians in East Laith Gate, before leaving the scene.

"The victims, a man and a woman, were both transported to hospital.

"Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are now ongoing to trace the driver involved.

"If you witnessed this incident, or have any information which could help us, please contact 101 quoting incident 213 of July 25.”
