Crews to remain at huge Doncaster blaze for 'some days to come'
Fire crews are to remain at the scene of a huge Doncaster blaze for ‘some days to come’ despite containing the inferno which has now been burning for more than 16 hours.
Seven fire crews and an aerial appliance remain at Morris Metals in Balby Carr Bank after a huge fire broke out at around 9pm last night.
In its latest update, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews have successfully contained the fire to the warehouse that was originally involved.
“We expect to be there for some days to come. We have been working well with on-site staff who have been using machinery to help remove materials allowing us to get to the fire
“Please keep doors and windows closed if you are being affected by the smoke and avoid the area.”
