Doncaster man, 28, jailed for brutal attack which saw him headbutt a 14-year-old

Lee Lindley grabbed hold of his 14-year-old victim and headbutted him in a violent attack in the Thorne area of the city in July last year.
Lindley then tried to inflict further harm by throwing a punch at the youngster, who was able to flee the scene and escape further injuries.

Hide AdThe unprovoked attack left his victim with an injury to his left eye and an investigation by officers led to Lindley being arrested and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Lindley, of High Hazel Road, Moorends, pleaded guilty to the charge and on Monday (16 September), he was given a 12-month prison sentence during a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court.
Lindley also admitted separate offences of threats to damage property, sending malicious communications, harassment, common assault, criminal damage and failure to surrender.
This led to him being sentenced to an additional nine months in jail and he was given a total prison sentence of one year and nine months.

Hide AdDetective Constable Rachel Young, who was the officer in charge of this case, said: "This was a cruel and savage attack on a young boy, who must have been left terrified by this ordeal.
"A long-running investigation into multiple crimes committed by Lindley has now resulted in justice being delivered through the courts and I hope the victim of this brutal attack can now feel some closure as he recovers from the mental and physical trauma inflicted on him."
