The S1 Food Bar in Fitzalan Square was shut temporarily earlier this month after a closure order was granted by Sheffield magistrates following an application by South Yorkshire Police.

Magistrates had heard claims of drug dealing at the takeaway, anti-social behaviour in the area and fears that 'vulnerable children' were being placed at risk.

An application for the takeaway to be closed long term was discussed at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Thursday, March 16.

Following the hearing, the magistrates' court has issued a closure order for the take-away stating that it will be "closed immediately" for four weeks.

The letter states: "The court has considered a closure order made on 16 March 2017 on the grounds that a person has engaged in anti social behaviour on the premises and the use of the premises is associated with significant and persisted disorder and persistent serious nuisance to members of the public.

"The premises are to be closed immediately to all persons and remain closed for 28 days from the date of this order.

"A person who remains on or enters the premises in contravention of this order is liable to a fine or imprisonment or both."

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman previously revealed that the Sheffield West Neighbourhood Team had received reports of anti-social behaviour in the local area.

They also received allegations made of drug dealing on the premises and the potential for vulnerable children to be placed at risk.
