The charity sees a team of ex professional footballers take the field against a team of local fundraisers, all representing their local school or local based businesses.

Doncaster people, raising money to help Doncaster people.

Over the next five weeks they will train with professional coaches and prepare as a team whilst raising as much money as possible.

The Legends team have already announced some great signings for the event such as ex England internationals Paul Merson, Darren Anderton and Lee Hendrie, really bringing the feel of this year’s Euro 2016 to The Keepmoat and making it an even bigger challenge for our heroes.

So who are they?

Firstly, representing the event sponsor Minster Law we have Alan Knowles, 36. Alan is ever present in the hero team for one reason, and over the last three years he has raised a staggering £10,000 for the charity through the event, even dying his hair bright pink for last year's event. His efforts alone would help a minimum of 20 Doncaster families.

Connor Steele, 18. Connor is a football mad young man we were lucky enough to meet through the charity after he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. We were able to send Connor to meet his heroes at Manchester United and now he’s in a much better place, he takes the field to help fulfil dreams for others in a similar situation.

Others schools involved are Ridgewood and Hungerhill, and it's not just the comprehensive schools, we have teachers from Green Top Primary and Grange Lane Academy taking part.

All our 25 local fundraisers need your support. This Fathers Day weekend, Saturday June 18th we have a Family Fun Day with rides, bouncy castles and much much more.
