SOAP actor Alan Halsall - better known as Coronation Street’s hapless mechanic Tyrone Dobbs - will add a touch of star quality to the Harvest Festival celebrations at Dearne Hall Care Home on Saturday.
Alan will join in with the activities and tuck into home-made cakes, teas and coffee alongside residents.
The actor will also spend his Saturday morning signing autographs and memorabilia, whilst getting to know those who live and work at the facility.
A raffle will be drawn to win a signed copy of ‘50 Years of Coronation Street’, plus there will be other added touches including the well-known Coronation Street theme music, to make the day one to remember.
Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman and Founder of the Ideal Care Homes, which runs Dearne Hall, said: “I am really pleased that Alan is able to take time out of his busy schedules to spend time with us at Dearne Hall.
“It will be great for the people who live with us and their families and friends to meet up with him and to chat about his on screen character. We aim to make all Ideal Care Homes great places to live this day is certainly a good example of that.”
Dearne Hall, based in Bolton-upon-Dearne, is one of 22 homes opened by Ideal Care Homes.
