Consumer Council for Water issues fresh advice for South Yorkshire customers

The Consumer Council for Water is urging elderly residents and people living alone to register a security password with their water and energy companies to help thwart distraction burglars.

It is hoped the password system will make it more difficult for bogus utility company workers to gain access to homes.

Janine Shackleton, of the CCW, said: “Distraction burglars callously exploit vulnerable people.”
