An animal lover is appealing to the public to help her raise the money needed to care for a horse, just days after she found him abandoned.
Billy, who is now almost one-years-old, was left on a landfill site in Carcroft in October 2015.
When he was first found at the end of last month, it took Vanessa Aradia Myatt and her friend Jayne Jones 48 hours to coax him in to a horse box so they could take him to safety.
Vanessa said: “He was too young to have left his mum. He’s had no proper food, no clean water and no human contact. He’d been surviving for the last five months on grass and dirty water.”
Vanessa is hoping to rsaise £1,500 to pay for Billy’s veterinary bills and improve his health even further.
She said: “We can provide a home, food and tender love and care, we will make sure he gets everything he needs but are desperate for some help with the initial vet fees.
“He needs his feet sorting out, worming, castrating and we suspect he has an infection. Any donators are welcome to come and meet him, however, he is scared and wild so any nips are at people’s own risk.
“We have every confidence that with the right veterinary care, time and love that he will be a tip-top horse. Any amount people can contribute will be greatly received.
