Coffee club is a boost to pets’ charity

KIND-hearted members of a Doncaster coffee club have raised £400 in a month for a charity that cares for poorly pets in the borough.

Maureen Mycroft, manager at PDSA’s Doncaster store at Priory Place, will receive a cheque at a special presentation tomorrow.

Maureen said: “PDSA does wonderful work caring for the sick and injured pets of people in need in Doncaster.

“That the members of Peacehaven Coffee Club have recognised this valuable service is humbling.

“On behalf of PDSA, I’d like to thank them for their fundraising efforts and generosity.”

The club’s 40 members meet every Tuesday morning at Peacehaven, a church building in Barnby Dun, and raised £400 for the charity in just four weeks by selling coffee and raffle tickets. Every month a different charity is selected to receive a donation.
