Club Doncaster pay tribute to teen crash victim

A Doncaster sports college has paid tribute to a rising teenage football star killed in a car crash.

Ethan Hedley, aged 19, died on Friday night after the Vauxhall Corsa he was travelling in collided with a Ford Mondeo in Hatfield Lane, Armthorpe.

Club Doncaster Sports College said: "We deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of our student Ethan Hedley.

"Ethan was a popular student at the college, studying a Level 2 Gym Instructors course with a view to becoming a personal trainer.

"Alongside his studies he represented the college football academy, playing a crucial role in the team’s season and impressing enough with his performances to be signed by Buxton FC in the Evo Stick Premier Division.

"Ethan’s positive energy, well-mannered persona and charming personality will be sorely missed in the classroom and on the football pitch.

"The thoughts of all our staff and students are with Ethan’s family and friends at this sad time."
