Our Fargate pop-up stand continues to give away more than 2,000 special clappers to ensure The Owls a thunderous Wembley welcome.

While the club has sold out their 38,000-plus ticket allocation, more of our freebies are available on match day from selected Hillsborough stores and coach parks.

Those investing in The Star praised our multi-platform pre-game build-up, continuing online, social media and print as the city side battles for a lucrative Premier League place.

Future fans Jack and Jessica Leedham (pictured), aged eight and five, were among youngest proudly sporting their clappers.

At the other end of the age scale, Jean Wilkinson, 78, of Crosspool, will be joined by Southport grandkids Joseph, 11, and 12 year-old Chloe in waving their clappers while glued to TV coverage after investing especially in Sky Sports to watch the match.

Catherine Smith, 82, of Halfway, bought a Star for a fellow pensioner friend to wave our clapper while John Walsh, 55, of Darnall, was another donating his to a friend.

Another OAP happy clapper recipient was life-long Owls fan Denise Paton, 65, who lives in the shadow of Hillsborough.

Richard Parker (pictured), 44, from Heeley, invested in an extra clapper for ten year old son Thomas, who he is collecting en route to London from Leicester, where he has been subject to footy-related bants from classroom supporters of the underdog Premier League winners.

Pauline Shaw, from Heeley, 55, told Star Digital First Team member Chris Page the clapper would double as a poster, enjoying pride of place on her and husband Michael's Skegness caravan, suitably decked out in similar blue favours.

Life long Owl Keith Grant, 74, will also be displaying the freebie in his Grenoside home window.
