Christmas carol celebration for Sheffield school

A traditional carol service was an end of term highlight for pupils at Westbourne School.

The Sheffield school celebrated Christmas with the service that took place at St Marie’s Cathedral in the city centre.

Pupils aged five to 16 at the Broomhill independent school joined the school choirs to present an evening packed with carols and seasonal readings.

“This event is extremely popular with both families and staff,” said Head of Senior School Marie Pritchett.

“There was a very warm welcome for everybody and we were delighted with the number of people who joined us at this special celebration.

“The superb acoustics in St Marie’s gave an added professionalism to our hymn singing and our combined choir’s performance.”

The evening also included a collection on behalf of Westbourne’s chosen charity of the year, Sheffield Young Carers.
