Christmas bazaar coming to Doncaster’s Waterdale Shopping Centre

Christmas is coming to Waterdale Shopping Centre.

On Friday November 20 the centre is hosting a Christmas bazaar, featuring local traders and entertainment, to get Doncaster in the festive spirit. The event, which is organised by the Shopping Centre owner and manager St. Modwen, with support from Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, takes place from 4-9pm.

The bazaar will include over 20 Christmas stalls, offering a range of locally produced crafts and gifts, including jewellery and accessories. The family friendly event also includes activities for young children, such as face painting and bauble decorating, in association with Sticky Mits nursery, as well as performances from local dance group, The Reel Dancers.

Father Christmas and pantomime characters from the Little Theatre will also be making an appearance!

In addition, bands from across the region will be performing a selection of classic Christmas songs as part of an alternative Christmas Carols. The bands have been selected by the owners of Taste café, which regularly hosts live music. Compering the event will be former local DJ, Simon Saynor, owner of the Notorious Aardvark Record Shop in Waterdale Shopping Centre.

Rebecca Berry, Centre Manager at Waterdale, said: “We’re bringing some early festive cheer to Waterdale Shopping Centre. The Christmas bazaar is a great opportunity to buy some unique Christmas presents whilst supporting local businesses. There’s entertainment to get the whole family into the Christmas spirit.”

Doncaster Council cabinet member for Culture and Tourism, Cllr Bill Mordue, said: “The Christmas Bazaar at the Waterdale Centre will be a really fun evening for local people, and is yet another great event taking place in the town centre on the run-up to Christmas. I hope to see as many people as possible there to make the most of the fantastic stalls and entertainment on offer.”
