Choose Well Doncaster app now on Android

Choose Well Doncaster is a handy and easy-to-use app, which gives local people advice when it’s best to use health services and where they can find them.

Initially exclusive to iPhone, the app has now made its way on to Android as a result of over 80% of participants of a recent survey, undertaken by the CCG, asking for a port of the software to the Google operating system.

Now available on Google Play, with a few finger-prods and thumb-swipes, you can get information and directions to your local pharmacy, GP surgery, dentist, sexual health clinic, minor injuries unit or A&E.

The app also includes directions to the newly opened Doncaster Same Day Health Centre, a revamped interface and greater functionality for iOS 9 and Android Marshmallow. Users can also make use of a notes and reminder function to set alerts for any upcoming health appointments, keeping all of your health information in one, handy and pocket-sized place.

Dr Nick Tupper said: “Choose Well Doncaster will help you choose the right NHS service, leaving urgent care to those that need it most. The app will explain what each service does, when it should be used and where to find it.

“This app is another example of the innovative work that is on-going in Doncaster to make information about health services more accessible and right at your finger-tips”.
