Skools Out is the new club which has been started at the Children’s Centre in Epworth operating after school every day from 3.15–5.30pm and open to primary school age youngsters.

Skools Out collects children from the adjacent Epworth Primary School and then offers a wide range of activities for them including inside and outside games, help with homework and healthy tea-time refreshments. It is staffed by qualified personnel and run in the centre provided by North Lincolnshire Council.

The new club has been jointly created by two local childminding services, Tiddleypeeps and Mrs Doubtfires, who recognised the need to provide an ever growing number of parents with a safe and reliable after school care service throughout the school terms.

Linda Wood, who started Tiddleypeeps with her daughters 11 years ago, explained: “Every year we get more parents relying on us to provide reliable and quality care for their children so they can go to work and not worry about them. This has increasingly included after school care.”

Alex Heighington who runs Mrs Doubtfires childminding business graded by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’, adds: “Skools Out provides the children with more space and more scope to challenge themselves which will support and enhance development. It allows us to provide a dedicated after school service providing care for many more children than we could previously within a purpose-built building providing much larger outside facilities for children to continue their learning through play experience.”

Already after just one week in operation Skools Out are virtually full underlining the need for after school care in the town. Further details can be found on the new service at www.skoolsout.net
