ALL conquering Doncaster Belles have unveiled a big name star signing.

For Prime Minister's wife Cherie Blair has pledged her support for the famed women's club as they attempt to become the first female team in the country to play in their own stadium.In a letter to the club's England midfielder Gill Coulthard, the leading QC said: "I am happy to support the Doncaster Belles."The message, on Downing Street headed notepaper, added: "They have achievedgreat success over the years, not only in winning terms but as an independent club going from strength to strength through sponsorship."With various club members playing for the England team, the Belles can only improve their position and help to raise the profile of ladies' football both throughout the UK and in the world sporting arena."Gill met Mrs Blair recently when she opened the Durham College Football Academy where the Belles ace works as full-time coach.Club general manager Mick Abrahams was delighted with the club's new found fan and said: "It is brilliant. We've got the letter framed and put up on the office wall."It is always nice to receive some support and when it comes from someone like this it is extra special."The club, who currently play their games at Hatfield Main FC, are in the process of drawing up plans for a 250,000 stadium at Toll Bar.Doncaster Council has already granted land for the development and work could get under way next summer if the club is successful in securing funding for the ground which could have a 3,000 capacity.Added Mick: "We have had some very positive support. We are very keen to get the ground up and running and hopefully we can pull it off."
