Chef’s tough talk on alcoholism

Celebrity chef and recovering alcoholic Michael Quinn MBE visited college students to talk about the dangers of drink.

Michael had a Michelin star to his name when he was headhunted by The Ritz hotel in London to breathe new life into its culinary reputation.

He appeared frequently on top TV and radio shows in the 1980s and, known to fans as the Mighty Quinn, had countless invitations to cook around the world.

But his life was turned upside down due to alcoholism and he became a homeless drunk.

After a few years living on the streets and flirting with death he finally stopped drinking.

After a hard-hitting talk at Doncaster College he took time to speak to students one-to-one.
