Crowle, Epworth and Haxey libraries are among others to benefit from extended opening hours.
North Lincolnshire Council is further investing in its libraries after a review was carried out that showed a need for changes to be made.
The library service is modernising and changing with hours to be increased between one and six hours a week from Monday, January 5 2015.
The new opening hours will be:
Crowle – Monday 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm, Tuesday closed, Wednesday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, Thursday closed, Friday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, and Saturday 10am to 1pm; an increase of six hours.
Epworth – Monday 1pm to 5pm, Tuesday 4pm to 7pm, Wednesday 9am to 2pm, Thursday closed, Friday 2pm to 7pm, and Saturday 9.30am to 12.30pm; an increase of four hours.
Haxey – Monday 2pm to 6pm, Tuesday 10am to 1pm, Wednesday 2pm to 5pm, Thursday closed, Friday 3pm to 7pm, and Saturday closed; an increase of four hours.
Coun Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure said: “As other councils across the country are cutting their library services, here in North Lincolnshire, we are investing further in ours to improve them for our residents. Libraries are a vital part of the community which is why it’s important to ensure they are available at times that suit and have a range of services available.
“After consulting with residents on what they want from their local library it was decided that changes needed to be made to the opening hours. We found that some times of the week were more popular than others. For some libraries we have just extended the hours and for others we have extended the hours and changed the times. These hours will better reflect customers’ needs and wishes.”
The council has modernised and invested in its library service in the last few years. This includes introduction of self-service facilities at nine libraries, free Wi-Fi access in all libraries and a range of virtual services including e-books to complement traditional book lending services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
There are a total of 15 libraries across North Lincolnshire and one mobile library.
The opening hours of Ashby, Barton, Brigg and Central Library were revised in 2012.
