Ever wondered what ghostly goings-on happen at Balby’s historic St Catherine’s House?

Well now you’ve chance to find out.

A number of ghost hunting nights are going to be held later in the year, where anyone brave enough can head to the house at 8pm and go ghost hunting throughout the night until 3am.

The August event is already fully booked but a second event is planned for October.

The lights will be off during the ghost hunting and night vision equipment will be in use.

Lisa Hudson, who works at St Catherine’s House, said: “Why not come along and think you’re on Most Haunted. It will be fun.....but spine chilling.”

St Catherine’s House is part of Flourish Social Enterprises, which supports patients to gain confidence to re-enter the world of work or education.

The social enterprise is supported by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

A fee will be charged for those taking part. To book tickets or for more information please ring 0843 289 1215.

The house, which was the former HQ of Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), was built in 1838 and was originally known as St Catherine’s Hall.

It was built as the home for the Banks family. The family sold it for a little over £25,000 to the Ministry of Health in 1930 when it was turned into a ‘mental institution’.
